Alerts – an easy way to stay updated:
You are expected to be acquainted with how to stay updated on the latest research. Most databases encourage you to create a personal account where you may subscribe to alerts to  table of contents (new issues of a journal), citations (new items citing a specific article – only available in a few databases, like ISI and on some publishers’ website) and saved searches (new articles matching your saved search)

Some publishers allow you to subscribe to the same without creating an account, f ex via a simple registration of your email on their website.
